Human naughts and crosses

Today at Enrich the day was started with a Wilson game called human naughts and crosses. It was pretty much like naughts and crosses but instead of squares we had chairs, instead of naughts and crosses we had people and the board was much much bigger. Three boards were set up and we were spilt up into teams of four. Four against four on my board and five against five on the other boards.There were five games on each board.The winner was... drum roll please (drumming) MY TEAM!!!!!woo!!!(cheering, screaming and clapping) and booing just kidding.

Today at Enrich

Hi!!! It's me Liam doing my blog post on the mat at Enrich.We started the day with a Wilson game called "All or nothing". In which  my team didn't win but we didn't lose either, we came second.  Next we did passion time.  For passion time Dylan and I did  lego comic builder but instead of star wars we did Batman. After that we did chess, I played Dylan. But we didn't  have time to finish it.

Hi! This is the last day of the term at Enrich and I have decided to do a video blog post.

Lego comic builder

Today at Enrich at chess I played two games of chess, one against Matt and one against my friend Dylan.Unfortunately I lost them both.After that we had passion time.In passion time I did lego comic builder star wars on lego.com.I haven't finished it yet but I am working on it.Here are the first three pages.

Today at Enrich

Bullseye

Today at Enrich we played a Wilson game called Bullseye.We were split into four teams.  Placed in front of each team were four hoops. Each team was also given four beanbags. Each team took turns throwing one of their beanbags into one of their hoops. Each hoop gave a different amount of points. The first was three, the second was six, the third was nine and the fourth was twelve.There were three rounds. Each round ended when one of the teams had thrown each one of their beanbags in their hoops.My team won!

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we had chess.I versed Liam W twice. The first time he won the next time I won.Before lunch we had high interest stations since I was not here last week I could only do the second half of something.Our choices were science - physics, 3d drawing or Fibonacci numbers.  I choose 3d drawing where we did three dimensional drawings of boxes.

Cartooning Part Two

Today at Enrich my group did the session two of cartooning.this time instead of everyone doing the same cartoons we all did different ones.I did a baseball player from a nine,a teacher from a fifteen and a rugby player from a eight.I also did a baby from a eleven and a cowboy fro a five.

Cartooning

After morning tea we chose what we were going to do for our high interest stations for the next two weeks. Our choices were science,biology or cartooning. Last time I choose to do science, the reason why they did it again is because there was so many people who wanted to do it that couldn't. They did it again to give some of them a chance. For cartooning we learned how to draw a man from an s,a dog from a 5,a vampire from a 7 and a man from a 6.Here's mine.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich the before school task was to play a mental edge game.The mental edge game that I played was rush hour. Then we got split into our maths, art and science groups I'm in the science group. At science we did an experiment with items around the house to make a light bulb. There was eleven of us and got split into  three groups one with three the others both had four. The experiment failed for all three groups. It should have made the pencil lead light up!

Week two of term two

Today at Enrich our before school task was to play a mental edge game.For my mental edge game I played rush hour.After morning tea we did a technology challenge we had to make something that could fire a shuttle cock with supplies that we were given in twenty minutes in groups that we were put into. We were told that they would be tested after lunch the team that won would get chocolate. After that we were talked to by someone from Environment Southland who talked about problems with the environment and pests that were attacking endangered species. At the end of each part she asked for questions.

Elephant toothpaste

Today at Enrich. The before school task was to play a mental edge game. I played rush hour for my mental edge game. This morning we also had a choice to do science, maths or art.  I did science. For science we did an experiment called elephant toothpaste, at the end of the experiment we ended up with a bottle with coloured foam shooting out the top.

Last day of term 2 at Enrich

Today at Enrich we started the day with the before school task which was to do a mental edge game.Then were told to do a ten sentence starters sheet at Enrich.The ten sentence starters were I really liked the way I,I wish I had,I still need to work on,This helped me understand,I am most proud of,It Will be easy to remember,The tricky part was,Next time I need to,I can explain and This reminded me.  We had to think about term 2 when we answered them.  Here is a picture of my ten sentence starter sheet to see it fully double click on it.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich to start the day we did chess. I played two games and unfortunately I lost both.Next some children and I did drama. At drama we practiced our plays.After morning tea we continued our drama practice and we found out that our plays will be on the radio. After lunch we did more chess and decided who was going to the chess tournament and I finished the day with Spanish.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we started the day with before school picks and I managed to finish it on time. Our choices were me and the key,me and the key two or the daily quiz I chose the daily quiz and scored five out of 15.Today we did chess I played Eddie and lost but in morning tea I challenged Liam W. and won!. After morning tea we had passion time and I choose to do drawing of mythical creatures. After lunch we did must do's and picks at first I did a workshop were we learned how to do mind mapping next I did Spanish. Here is a picture of the mythical creature I made in passion time.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we did our first passion time for this year. For my first passion time I tried making a game on Scratch. Scratch is a programme that allows you to create your own game. It also allows you to make your own character depending on what kind of game you make also you can put in bad guys also depending on what kind of game you make.  Scratch also allows you to make your own animations.  Today I also did some drama .  At drama we swapped one of our plays for a new one called The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig in it. I got the part of the rhinosorus. In the play the rhinosorus gives the three little wolfs stainless steel, padlocks and other things made out of metal. Near the end of drama we sat in a circle and went through it.        

World of wearable arts

Today at Enrich between morning tea and lunch we went on a field trip to the Southland Museum to see the world of wearable arts aka w.o.w.  Four of the costumes were glow in the dark which were on display in a darkish area while the other costumes were not.  Some of them were made of strange material one of them was made of copper,gold and silver.A lot of them were quite amazing.One of them was a knight with a sword and at the base of the sword was a sliver skull.

Today at Enrich

Today at Enrich we were told to do a learning wheel on our first term at Enrich.The learning wheel has 5 categories which are I felt, I wondered, I tried, I learned and I used. Here is my learning wheel.

Today at Enrich we also did more chess and I played against Charlie and won!

Teacher comment

Liam you are full of surprises and your talent and enthusiasm for acting was certainly one of them - The drama talent development has definitely shown us all a new side of you!
It is great to see how you are opening up as the term progresses, you not only willingly embrace personal challenge but have also embraced all the opportunities for group challenges as well. You are coming to grips with the time management aspects of the enrich programme and this is also ensuring that you go from success to success. A great start Liam - Keep it up!

Today at enrich

Today at enrich was really fun. We had another chess workshop that some of us did including me. After the workshop we were told to verse each other in chess, while we were doing that everybody else played chess the whole way through.Today I also did the multiple intelligences test and at the end it had categories  of different types of intelligences and how smart you are in that category. It showed that I have a strength with numbers and maths which I agree with!

Today at enrich

Today we did some chess. Some people including me did a workshop and we were told some hints for playing. At the end of the workshop we were told to verse each other in chess matches and everybody else played chess the whole way through .I chose to do drama. In drama were doing something called readers theater which is when you do a play by using your voice.

SCAMPER

Today at enrich we did SCAMPER  which is when we have a item and do different things with it. In the word SCAMPER each letter stands for something . S stands for  substitute C stands for combine M stands for mega/mini P stands for put to other uses E stands for eliminate and  R stands for reverse.All these things we had to do with the item we were given and take a picture with a camera that we were given it was really fun.
